The article presents for the first time the original documents of the State Archive of the Republic of Crimea related to the fate of the «pupil» of the 1st partisan detachment of the 4th brigade of the Southern formation Volodya Degtyarev: the boy’s letters to the Crimean headquarters of the partisan movement, award sheets and other documents that allow us to imagine his partisan fate. It tells about the post-war life of V. F. Degtyarev (1930-2018). The presented materials are intended to confirm the «vitality» of the plot about the «son of the regiment» and the historical validity of the development of this plot in literature and cinema.
