The article studies the peculiarities of comprehension of the categories of space and time in the work of Velimir Khlebnikov. Artistic and philosophical views on these concepts are analyzed. The author’s reasoning concerning the unity of space and time is given and commented. On the basis of the biography and creative heritage of V. Khlebnikov the features of the philosophical and artistic concept of the laws of time are described. On the material of artistic works the poem «Khadzhi-Tarkhan», poems «Ochi Okі», «Nizhny», «Vremenin I», drama «Mirskontsa»), as well as other works (notes, letters, articles, fragments from «Boards of Destiny») the peculiarities of representation of the categories «space» and «time» as artistic elements of V. Khlebnikov’s poetics are considered. The functional roles of the images of space and time are defined, the individual-authorial ways of their representation in Khlebnikov’s fiction and non-fiction texts are revealed. The conclusions about the inseparability of the author’s theoretical constructions and his creative practice are drawn. The peculiarities of the embodiment of images of space and time in the author’s poetics are established, as well as the possibility of their interpretation through each other.
