Abstract (English):
The article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of the idiosyncrasy of a modern English playwright D. Hare, who raises politics and world order problems in his works. The scientific novelty is characterized by the little-studied nature of the proposed material and the use of a new concept that asserts the presence of a number of features of Hare’s style in his political works. The article presents a comprehensive description of the playwright’s idiosyncrasy. The proposed approach can be applied in the analysis of other modern playwrights’ works. In addition, the main ways of representing political realities in the author’s work are revealed, and it contributes to the understanding of the characteristic features and ideological orientation of political drama. The results of the study show that behind a wide range of speech transformations in D. Hare’s plays one can see the structure-forming core of his works which helps the author in uncovering the main conflict, such as: certain ways of presenting character characteristics, focalization and ideological orientation. The relevance of this research is due to the increased interest in the study of modern political drama as a response to topical issues of the world order, as well as the lack of a unified approach to understanding the term “idiosyncrasy” and a common approach to its analysis in literary studies, D. Hare.
