Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
In July 1774, Haji Ali Pasha’s Ottoman troops landed on the Crimean coast. The combat operations between the Ottomans and the Russian army resumed in the Crimean Peninsula. At the same time, the Tatars started an armed insurrection. The combats stopped when the troops got official information about the conclusion of the peace treaty in Kucuk-Kaynarca. However, the situation in the Crimean Khanate still continued to be tense. The government of the Russian Empire tried to blame Prince Dolgorukov, the commander in chief of the Second Army, for the crisis. This article attempts to sort out whether these accusations were grounded.
