ФЕЛИКС ГИЛБЕРТ. ИНТЕЛЛЕКТУАЛЬНАЯ ИСТОРИЯ ИСТОРИОГРАФИЯ ГЕНЕЗИСА ВНЕШНЕЙ ПОЛИТИКИ США (1940-Е ГГ. – ПЕРВАЯ ПОЛОВИНА 1970-Х ГГ.)

Аннотация (русский):
Анализируется интерпретация Ф. Гилберта генезиса внешней политики США. Актуальность исследования определяется низкой степенью проработанности темы в историографии. Источниковую базу составили труды историка, рецензии на них, документы Колледжа Брин-Мар, Института перспективных исследований Принстонского университета, биографические и мемуарные работы. Комбинация биографического, историко-сравнительного, историко-хронологического методов и системного подхода составила методологию изыскания. Результаты анализа позволили сделать следующие выводы. Истолкование ученым зарождение внешней политики Соединенных Штатов характеризуется вторичностью: утверждение о европейском и британском опыте, как истоке было широко распространено в исторической науке на протяжении последней трети XVIII в. и первой половины ХХ в. Аргументация оценки не опиралась на широкий источниковый массив. Исследователь игнорировал работы и занижал значимость вклада предшественников и современников. Несмотря на то, что обращение историка к теме было следствием карьерных устремлений, он стал одним из сподвижников ревизионизма: Ф. Гилберт применил методологию интеллектуальной истории к раннему периоду истории внешней политики США, что создало новую модель проведения исследований.
