Задачей исследования является ввод в научный оборот новой группы сфрагистического материала – свинцовых пломб. Коллекция из 23 предметов классифицирована на два типа по морфологическим признакам. Пломбы типа 1 состоят из двух свинцовых дисков, пломбы типа 2 – из четырех. Внутри типа 1 выделены три варианта. Все артефакты идентифицированы как пломбы, использовавшиеся в качестве маркеров происхождения и соответствия стандартам качества в европейской текстильной промышленности в средние века и Новое время. Пломбы типа 1 найдены на территории дворца 1425–1475 гг. и датированы периодом его функционирования. Прямых аналогий им обнаружить не удалось. Пломбы типа 2, найденные на территории базилики, суммарно датируются XVII в. и происходят из Англии, одна из них – из графства Суффолк. Ткани, опломбированные предметами типов 1 и 2, могли попасть на территорию Мангупа в качестве товаров или дипломатических даров
